Open Houses and Tours of the VAKC

The VAKC holds an open house once a year (date TBA) so new members of the community can come and learn more about how the VA Kids Center is right for them.  Meet the staff, tour the facilities, and have a chance to see how our smaller class size really does make a difference for kids!  If you can't make our open house, tours are also available by request.  Contact us to schedule a visit, or just to learn more about us. 

Fall Annual Potluck & WOYC Annual Breakfast Potluck

We host an annual fall potluck dinner in September where elections are held for the Board of Directors. During the Week of the Young Child, we host our center-wide Breakfast Potluck.

Spring Flower Fundraiser

Thanks to all the VAKC family, friends, work colleagues and community members who purchase their annuals through our annual fundraiser! Extra thanks goes to those who volunteer to sort the large load of plants. The family who sells/buys the most flowers wins a free flat of flowers.

 

2009 United Way Days of Caring

A HUGE thank you goes to Virent Energy Systems, Inc. for participating in the 2009 United Way Days of Caring at VAKC. The group of ten volunteers moved 16 tons of sand to sandboxes and around climbers, leveled bricks flush with the ground, leveled a playhouse, and stained two wooden climbers. The playgrounds are much safer and child-friendly thanks to the effort this group put in on Friday August 28, 2009!

 

2007 Bowling and Bands Fundraiser

Thanks to all our VAKC families and friends who volunteered and participated in the VAKC's 2007 Bowling and Bands, our biggest fundraiser ever!  It was held at Badger Bowl in Madison on Saturday, October 13, 2007.  Hundreds of people were on hand for the event, which included bowling for kids and families, a silent auction with over 40 great items, and a charity concert by Pink Houses and Taco Billy and the Sinchillas.  A special thanks to all our donors and sponsors of the event.
