VAKC welcomed us (nervous parents) into their community with open arms and immediately made us feel welcome and supported. The staff is incredible, caring, passionate and truly facilitates development and learning of each child. VAKC provided a safe (our number one priority) and enriching environment while exposing our daughter to different foods, fun experiences, socialization and play. The staff was nurturing and really attentive to her care (even teachers outside her specific class/room). We appreciated the small classroom sizes and teacher ratios. We were also extremely grateful for the guidance and love from two lead teachers, Lata and Emily. We can’t recommend this facility enough.”

“I looked at many places for childcare before finding the VA Kids Center. I could feel the difference in the atmosphere almost immediately. I appreciated the low ratio of teachers to kids; all the other centers were larger and felt less personal. I was encouraged to check in and visit my son during the day when able, and my breastfeeding relationship was supported. They were not just watching my son while I worked; they were teaching him and taking care of him in a loving way. Everything felt thought out-the toy choices, how the room was set up (and how they’d change the set up to keep it new for the kids), the mealtimes and having the kids sit at the table together. I really liked that the babies were not put in bouncers or seats as infants; it is a “container” free facility. I had high standards for a facility and they met my expectations. I loved the VA Kids Center and recommended them to anyone looking for excellent childcare. Lata, Emily, and staff were all wonderful and caring to our entire family. The staff were knowledgeable about child development and this was reflected in how they interacted with the kids. “Our family has been with the VAKC since our daughter, Josephine, joined the Monkey Room (MR) in 2016 when she was 3 months old. She, like our 11 month old William is now, was in the expert, loving care of Lata until she transitioned to the Train Room (TR) to be with Emily. Emily provided a rich and stimulating environment and adeptly dealt with age-appropriate (but distressing!) issues Jo had biting her friends. In the TR and Jungle Room, Jo not only learned her A, B, C’s but also about other people’s feelings and how to express her own. Thanks to the professional and loving care she received, Jo is thriving and is still having playdates with her best friend she met in the MR! We are lucky to have Lata (and now Tami) caring for William. I’ve been on the VAKC Board of Directors for the past three years and am dedicated to giving back to a center that has been our family’s second family for the last three and a half years.
